What is Endoscopic Laser Spine Surgery?
Endoscopic laser spine surgery is a minimally invasive type of spine surgery that uses both a very small fiber-optic camera (endoscope) and laser to reduce or eliminate back pain based on the patient’s condition.
Very small incisions are used (less than 1 inch in general) and an endoscope is inserted so the surgeon can view the spine on a computer monitor. Using this close up view, the surgeon then uses a laser to remove different types of tissue that may be creating the pain.
